Paul was sent to arrest all those that (Acts 9:14) called on the name of the Lord. "And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name."
Thanks for your confession Gordy!Travis Burkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05022222994131988711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5857168373791164001.post-26809178174339797482010-01-24T18:14:17.154-08:002010-01-24T18:14:17.154-08:00I am confessing with my mouth that I believe in my...I am confessing with my mouth that I believe in my heart what you wrote. ;)

I have often wondered if the phrase "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord" carries the same meaning that it did in the Old Testament - that of worshipping God rather than the squishy asking Jesus into your heart.

God is seeking people to worship him in spirit and truth, and only those who are saved can actually do that. Only the saved can call upon the name of the Lord in spirit and truth.

I'd be curious to read what the early church preached and taught on that passage.Gordyhttp://www.voicecrying.com/noreply@blogger.com
